National Older Workers Week will run between 22nd to 26th November 2021 and includes a series of events for line managers, HR and Diversity & Inclusion professionals.
Sponsored by QA Ltd, the campaign aims to help organisations manage multigenerational teams and ensure any possible ageism is eliminated.
Leading up to National Older Workers Week we will be promoting a series of positive stories and videos from older workers that aim to change the narrative. We will also be publishing news and features about all the issues affecting older workers.
During National Older Workers Week we will be holding a number of events that bring together experts in this field, with the aim to educate, inspire and promote change.
22nd to 26th November 2021
Who should attend: HR managers and diversity leads
For HR managers and diversity leads, our first event will take a look at the results of our candidate survey, presenting the issues older workers are facing. This event aims to give employers an up-to-date view on the current situation, including the impact of Covid, to help them to implement new initiatives and improve current policies.
23rd November, 1pm until 2.30pm
Who should attend: HR managers and diversity leads
For HR managers and diversity leads, our second virtual event will be focused on countering ageism within organisations. Drawing on best practice, we will take a look at how to eliminate bias in the recruitment process and we will review, with leaders in this field, the best policies and practices that attract, support and retain older workers.
23rd November, 1pm until 2pm
Who should attend: Line Managers who are responsible for teams. Directors, HR and diversity leads will also find value being part of this event.
The event will bring together those organisations that have successfully managed multigenerational teams and is ideal for line managers who are responsible for teams, although Directors, HR and diversity leads will also find value in attending. Participants will share the challenges they have faced and how these have been overcome, whether that is combating ageism – both against young and old – in their processes and policies or promoting lifelong learning.
