The mental wellbeing of staff has been a key focus for many pioneering organisations during this pandemic.
We have seen some amazing policies and initiatives that have supported staff. However, we know that experts are anticipating a significant rise in long-term mental health issues so this is an issue that will not go away and will need creative approaches.
At a WM People virtual round table: Mental health at work – next steps, sponsored by McDonald’s, we will share best practice in this area amongst a wide cross section of organisations. Following the round table a white paper on the findings will be produced and will be widely available.
– The importance of employee engagement – exploring creative ways to stay in touch as the lockdown eases and in hybrid working settings
– Work as a source of mental health issues – line management support and other channels to identify work-based issues
– Experiences with mental health champions/first aiders/wellbeing networks
– Targeting particular groups – parents, furloughed workers, frontline workers, remote workers, etc, and tailoring support appropriately.
