Top two emerging DE&I trends for 2024

At WM People, we see the top two DE&I emerging trends for 2024 as being the need for a greater focus on age diversity, multigenerational working and a focus on mental health.

Both of these are incredibly impactful and important to workplaces moving forward.

Age diversity and multi-generational working are gaining traction because they recognise the values of diverse perspectives, experiences and skill sets that different age groups bring to the table. Tailoring benefits and support to accommodate various different stages of a person’s career is a fantastic way to foster inclusion and maximise productivity.

Mental health, especially in the context of supporting individuals with health conditions back into work, is a critical area that’s been receiving increased attention. Policy level focus on mental health at work is crucial to creating environments that support everyone’s well being. Whilst best practices might still be evolving in supporting people back to work, the recognition of this is a significant step towards building healthier and more inclusive workplaces.

These trends show a positive shift towards more comprehensive and empathetic approaches to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
